Who is Eric and what is Eric Swahn Racing?
Eric Swahn Racing, LLC. (ESR) was established in 2014 for the purpose of competing in Professional Motorcycle Road Racing in the United States. We were not able to secure the funding necessary to go racing at a competitive level and mid 2016 ESR morphed into an eCommerce retail operation. As of 2017 had a few thousand items listed for sale online between Craigslist, eBay, and ShopESR.com. If we can't get the money from sponsors, we'll make it ourselves. It may take us a few years before we get back into the swing of things but we feel this is a much more stable approach.
About Eric Swahn
2012 began his first season racing and he quickly made his presence known. He took a staggering 11 - 1st place finishes with 21 total podiums. He placed 2nd at the WERA Grand National Finals twice, trailing each time by only one second from being crowned Novice National Champion. Eric earned 33 top 10 finishes, and scored points in 100% of all races completed. Finishing consistently, he was credited three separate 2012 Novice WERA Superstock Championships (600, 750 and 1000cc Superstock).
In 2013, Eric raced with two separate organizations and won his first Expert race with both WERA and MotoSeries. In July at Road Atlanta, Eric entered in the annual Cycle Jam. He performed exceptionally in his first qualifying session and placed 10th/26 in the National Expert 600 Superstock class. He scored a total of 20 podiums and earned 38 top 10 finishes. He finished 2nd overall in two classes and 3rd overall in another two classes for his Championships (600, 750 Superbike / 600, 750 Superstock).
In 2014, Eric entered into his 3rd full season of racing. Highlights include 10 National top 10 finishes with a career high of a 2nd place Expert National finish. He has finished within the points-paying positions in every race finished (32) this season. The overall regional championship results are: 2nd 750 Superstock / 3rd 600 Superbike / 4th 750 Superbike / 4rd 600 Superstock / 4th 750 Superbike National.
In 2015, Eric purchased a basically brand new Pro Spec 2013 Triumph Daytona 675R, and scored solid finishes with two 5ths, and a 6th the first weekend on the bike. Unfortunately he suffered a nasty highside at Grattan on 05/03/15 and hit the pit wall coming onto the main straightaway. He had many injuries but fully recovered in a very short time. Less than four months after, he completed another Tough Mudder. Due to high medical and bike repair expenses, tied with recently being laid off from STG it wasn't possible to continue racing. Even with 20 sponsors, at this level it's hard to get financial backing.
In 2016, Eric worked for and managed an automotive dismantler start-up out of Detroit, MI for roughly six months. After his stint there, he started working on the business he formed in August of 2014. He began selling take off race tires, but expanded rapidly into dozens of categories. He began doing this full time and quickly saw that there could be huge potential.
In 2017, we grew to have a few thousand items for sale, and grew to sell more than last year.
In 2018, we grew to add more items, acquire drop ship vendors Moto-D Racing, Bonamici, and Michelin Brands. We have already sold more than last year before October and we are working to make ESR even better!
In 2019, we are continuing to add new vendors and working with volunteers and employees to help create new listings.
If you like what Eric and ESR is doing and want to support the efforts, please consider making a purchase.
